Mountain village Desná has been founded in 1691. The glass-blowing tradition is recalled in the ostentatious Riedel Villa, which had belonged to the greatest glass-maker in the Jizera mountains, now exhibition halls. The underground tunnel of a dam thet collapsed in 1916 is a major nesting area of bats.
