Pension Kraus

Village Prostřední Svince is situated about 17km on the south from České Budějovice, 8km at the southeast from Český Krumlov. The nearest ski slopes are Věžovaté Pláně 6km, Klet 10km, Kramolín 25km. By train - from Prague, from Plzeň, from Brno, from Wiena to České Budějovice. From České Budějovice it is direction to Horní Dvořiště, to railway station Holkov, distance from station to Prostřední Svince is about 1km. By bus - from Prague, Brno, to České Budějovice. From České Budějovice direction to Velešín – Holkov, station is about 1km from village Prostřední Svince From Prague, Plzeň, Brno to České Budějovice. From České Budějovice follow the road E55 direction to Linz. Take a right at the crossroad in Holkov direction to Český Krumlov, village Prostřední Svince is after one kilometer.

The Pension itself was established by a reconstruction of a typical South-Bohemian estate, where even the original facilities of the past were preserved, like the black kitchen and the bread oven - 2 halls (for 20 and 60 people) for weddings, wedding ceremonies, seminars. Accommodation: 20 beds (3/2, 2/3, 2/4) with the possibility to add an extra bed. Dining room with a bar for guests, a large area with a fireplace, and sports games are available. Parking is provided by the pension. Service: for company seminars and training Pension Kraus offers a flipchart, overhead projector, projection screen, video, and television. In the attractive environment of the community room it is possible to organize chamber concerts for about 50 persons. This area can also be used for recording. There is an original piano ("Hammerflügel") Ignace Pleyel - Paris from 1854 at disposal.

Besides being easily accessible to the above mentioned towns, the following historical monuments can be found in the surroundings - Český Krumlov with the historical center, which represents the jewel of a world-wide importance (listed in UNESCO), Římov (4km) - the church with a closed cloister and the Way of the Cross, Zlatá Koruna monastery (5km), a locality famous in Europe - Třísov Kelt oppidum with near romantic ruins of a castle from the 13th century above the Vltava River - Dívčí kámen, Rožmberk castle, Vyšší Brod monastery, zámek Hluboká, Hluboká chateau, a natural locality of Terčino valley, and others. Near the pension there are also monuments reminding us of a horse-way,, which used to connect České Budějovice and Linz. The surrounding terrain is suitable for bicycling, in winter for cross-country skiing, and for down-hill skiers there is a ski slope at Kleť (1084 n. m., about 18km) and at Věžovatá pláně (6km).
