Around Nejdek

Length: 13,2 km Dificulty: medium Circle: YES, Marking: marked The trip starts on the Nejdek square. From there it continues along the yellow route under the Jedlovecký Špičák and around the Jedlovec hill to the village named Vysoká Pec (High Oven). There it turns right and continues along the blue track to the crossroads Nad Tisovou and along the yellow track to hill Tisovský Vrch with a view tower. Then it goes down to the crossroads Pod Tisovským Vrchem (under the Tisovský Hill) and from there it leads along the green track passing a restaurant Krásná Vyhlídka back to Nejdek square. The chateau of Nejdek is from 17th century. There is also an evangelic church, baroque church of St.Martin. Nejdek also has five solar clocks which is the most in the area of Karlovy Vary.   Vysoká Pec – A village used for winter and summer recreation. A great part of the area is a natural park. A part of the village is also a natural reserve which has been established to protect local plants.   Tisový Vrch – view tower – The tower is a dominant of the forest area of the hill. The tower is 18m high with 114 steps. There is a platform with 3m high glass shelter with a 3m high lightning-rod so the whole tower is 24m high. It is accessible all year round and there is no entrance fee.   Krásná Vyhlídka (Beautiful View) – The name comes from the location with a view of the town of Nejdek
