Around Domažlice

Length: 18 km Dificulty: medium Circle: YES, Marking: marked This trip starts on the square in Domažlice and continues along the green touristic track around St.Anne’s church and a cottage colony to the sanatorium Na Veselé Hoře (On Happy Hill). From the hill it continues still by the green track to the crossroad Bývalá Hájovna Dmout (Former Hunting Lodge Dmout). From there it continues by the red track to a village called Babylon which it passes by the yellow track around a water reservoir to Pila village. Then it continues alongside the railway still by the yellow track to Trhanov where it switches to the red track and climbs up to Hrádek hill. Then it descends to Újezd village and continues by the red track back to Domažlice.

The castle is a simple one storey building. There is a linden alley at the castle.   Hrádek – On Hrádek we find the statue of Jan Sladký Kozina. The statue is 3.2 m high, the dog became a symbol of the Border Guards, following the watch tradition of the local people.   Újezd - Újezd (formerly Kozinův Újezd). The village has a number of nice and interesting buildings of folk architecture. On the Kozina farm there is a memorial hall of the famous Jan Sladký Kozina.
