The village of Sklenařice is located on the border of the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains. The establishment of the village dates back to the 14th century and is related to the internal colonization of mountainous areas. As in other surrounding areas, glassmaking developed here as well. The glassworks were connected to Vysoké nad Jizerou in 1976. In winter, it is possible to visit the Větrov and Šachty ski areas, which are located near Vysoké nad Jizerou.
